Ironside Pizza
For an authentic Neapolitan meal, head over to Ironside Pizza in Miami’s Upper Eastside neighborhood. The pizzeria, a younger sibling of the more upscale Italian restaurant, Toscana Divino, doesn’t fail to bring patrons that same unmistakable high-end cuisine yet in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. Driven by the same admirable principles as Toscana, Ironside Pizza sources fresh and local ingredients from nearby farms and even their own garden.

The menu glistens with mentions of antipasti boards, artichoke salad, Mortadella & pesto panini, and braised beef ragu maccheroni, to name a few. Albeit the stars of the show are, but of course, the pizzas and calzones. All coming straight out of the wood fire, with perfectly puffed-up crusts still carrying a hint of the Florida pine smoke. The pie menu is not only impressive but also customizable, with gluten-free and vegan options for every slice lover out there. While the choice of pizza pie may be a hard one to make, the Margarita is a crowd favorite.

This pizzeria classic genuinely allows for all the ingredients to shine on their own — fresh and creamy mozzarella fior di latte, housemade tomato sauce of San Marzano tomatoes, basil snipped straight from the garden, and of course, a healthy drizzle of rich and nutty olive oil. After finishing your meal, move on over to the breezy, plant-filled Verde Lounge for some dolci and caffe accompanied by live jazz on Wednesday evenings. The sweetest finish to a proper Neapolitan feast.
