Air Fryer Chicken Tenders and Fries

The Benefits of Using an Air Fryer

The main benefit of using an air fryer over frying in oil can reduce the calories in your food by 70-80 percent. There is also a lot less fat when using this method. Oil frying your food may also lead to health problems like heart disease and diabetes.

An air fryer is usually egg-shaped. Plenty of your favorite food items can be cooked with one. Once your food is placed in the air fryer, heated air surrounds it, cooking the outside first for crispiness and it keeps the inside soft. There is a removable container at the bottom of the air fryer which catches grease that drops. Air fryers are not only good for health reasons, but for taste as well. 

This recipe is a simple yet tasty and healthier way to eat an American favorite, fried chicken strips and french fries.

1 lb chicken breast, diced into strips
salt and pepper to taste
½ cup breadcrumbs
¼ cup cornflakes
½ tsp chili flakes
½ tsp dried oregano
1 large egg, lightly beaten
For the fries
2 big potatoes, diced into strips
½ tsp chili flakes
salt and pepper to taste
½ tsp dried oregano

In a medium bowl mix the breadcrumbs, corn flakes, chili flakes, dried oregano, and salt and pepper to taste.

Roll each piece of chicken breast into the lightly beaten egg wash and then coat with the breadcrumbs mixture.

Drizzle with just a little bit of olive oil and place some of the strips in an air fryer. Cook on 400F or 190 C degrees for about 20 minutes. You can cook the chicken breast in three batches.

After the chicken, season the potato fries with chili flakes, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to taste.

Cook them in two-three batches for about 15 minutes at 350 F or 180 C degrees.

Serve and enjoy.
