Where to Celebrate National Ceviche Day 2024 in Miami

5 mins read

Get ready to tantalize your taste buds on June 28, National Ceviche Day! And what better place to celebrate this iconic dish than in Miami, a city renowned for its diverse culinary scene and cultural influences? Whether you’re a ceviche connoisseur or a curious newbie, Miami’s top Peruvian restaurants are ready to take you on a flavorful journey.

Aromas del Peru

For a true taste of Peru, head to your local Aromas del Peru; they’re everywhere. This beloved restaurant prides itself on its authentic cuisine, and their ceviches are no exception. You can stick to the classic ceviche with your choice of protein (we’re suckers for the shrimp), or you can liven things up with the ceviche citrico that combines tuna, salmon, lobster, and shrimp in a very citrus-forward leche de tigre; the tanginess is great. There’s no shortage of tasty options, so treat yourself.

Keep your ceviche escapade going in the heart of Brickell, where Barsecco awaits to enchant you with its modern global cuisine; their offerings run the gamut from Italian to Mexican and more. One of their signature dishes: the ceviche carretillero. It’s the only ceviche on the menu, but it’s a doozy with fresh-cut corvina, leche de tigre, crispy fried calamari, sweet potato, giant Peruvian corn, and other delights. Consider it the perfect appetizer for all the other great food and drinks you’re about to consume.

Costa Med

Venture over to picturesque Key Biscayne, where Costa Med offers an exquisite taste of the Mediterranean. Seafood is one of their many specialties, so the ceviche here is a winner. The best part? It’s made fresh daily, so it’s always a nice surprise. Should the day’s ceviche isn’t your taste, you should also take a look at the Creole tuna tataki and the fish tartare; the raw selections here are divine (and so is the wine list).

No ceviche adventure in Miami would be complete without a visit to CVI.CHE 105, a culinary institution that has been delighting locals and tourists alike for years. With multiple locations across the city, this Peruvian gem offers a wide array of ceviches to suit every palate. Expect classic preparations with just white fish and leche de tigre and cool creations like El Ganador (white fish, octopus and scallops, roasted red peppers). One thing’s for sure: CVI.CHE 105 never fails to impress. Make sure to check out their specials as well, as the kitchen loves to have some fun.

Dr. Limon Ceviche Bar

Kendall doesn’t get enough love, so make the trek south to Dr. Limon Ceviche Bar.  This restaurant has become a favorite destination for ceviche enthusiasts, offering a wide variety of fresh and vibrant flavors. It’s no surprise as ceviche bar is in the name—we expect nothing less. You won’t find anything too crazy here—just (mostly) traditional ceviches done well. Our recommendations: Opt for the Remedio Casero with its hot limo pepper or the Fiebre Amarilla with its yellow pepper cream; those two are standouts but you really can’t go wrong. And don’t worry if you live nowhere near Kendall, as Dr. Limon has several other locations as well.

Dr. Limon Kendall is located at 7700 North Kendall Drive, Suite 401, Miami, FL 33156. For more information, visit their official website.
