Where to Catch Up With Friends in Miami

If it’s been a while since you’ve seen your friends, make sure your next hangout is a memorable one. Consider catching up with your pals at these fun spots for good food and good conversation.

Biscayne Bay Brewing

Located in the heart of Downtown, this local brewery crafts a diverse selection of house-brewed beers, from refreshing IPAs to rich stouts. Gather with friends inside the industrial-chic taproom for fun conversations and games; there are always events going on like salsa classes, trivia, watch parties and more, so make sure to follow them on social media for the latest news.

Biscayne Bay Brewing is located at 100 NE 1st Ave. Third Floor, Miami, FL 33132. For more information, visit their official website

Caracas Bakery

Step into a world of Venezuelan flavor at this MiMo gem. If it’s your first time here, enjoy their signature ham-filled cachitos or their decadent croissants. Besides a plethora of pastries, the bakery boasts a ton of savory options like eggs and toast, frittatas, breakfast platters, and sandwiches galore. This place gets busy early, so your best bet is to come in the early afternoon for a more manageable crowd. Regardless, it’s worth the wait.

Caracas Bakery is located at 7283 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33138. For more information, visit their official website.

Cubata

Immerse yourselves in the heart of Little Havana at Cubata. At this charming Calle Ocho spot, you can savor a slew of small and large Latin-inspired bites like ceviche, croquettes, Cuban sandwiches, fried pork, garlic shrimp, and so much more. Sip a classic mojito while you’re at it, or treat the gang to a bottle of wine; the prices are very reasonable for Miami. Our favorite part about this place: its infectious energy. Depending on the time, you might catch a live performance or two!

Ironside Pizza

This hidden gem in the trendy Ironside district dishes out some of the city’s finest pizzas. Their menu showcases no shortage of classic and creative flavor combinations: You can never go wrong with a margherita pizza, the pesto and ricotta pie, or—our personal favorite—the speck gorgonzola.

Beyond pizza, the restaurant serves pastas, panini and a few other mains like eggplant parm and seared salmon. In other words, you and the homies have plenty to choose from. And, of course, there’s wine.

The Lobster Shack

Take advantage of the beautiful South Florida weather with a trip to either Lobster Shack location. The Miami Beach institution is known for its decadent lobster rolls, but there’s more to the menu than meets the name. Oysters, tacos, and a phenomenal seared tuna salad are just a few of the many highlights at this SoBe hangout. It’s worth visiting just to sit outside, sip some drinks, and take in the sights.

Motek

Motek transports you to the vibrant shores of the Mediterranean with its exquisite flavors and stylish atmosphere. Their menu is huge: Think beautifully composed hummus platters, flavorful mezze such as salmon skewers and grilled halloumi, and perfectly prepared chicken and lamb shawarma.

Motek also features an excellent cocktail program. Their mixologists blend Mediterranean herbs and spices with a variety of quality liquors, so there’s a flavor profile for everyone. The airy space seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor dining. Sit outside for some fun people-watching.

Motek is located at 701 S Miami Ave., #412A, Miami, FL 33131. For more information, visit their official website.

Paperfish Sushi

Paperfish Sushi is a haven for sushi enthusiasts seeking a sophisticated yet relaxed dining experience. Expect artfully arranged sushi and sashimi platters, traditional and innovative rolls, and a wide selection of Japanese-inspired cooked dishes. The sleek, modern interior adds to the allure, making Paperfish Sushi a perfect spot for a special occasion with some old pals.
