If you’re looking for a place to celebrate sushi, look no further than the new omakase hot spot Kissaki which is launching specials all month long. The restaurant will be introducing new specialty rolls weekly, with the baked crab roll rolling out during the first week of June—absolutely loaded with crab and wrapped in soy paper with umami mayo and kosho butter; the salmon and ikura roll with shiso and miso coming week 2; and the hamachi and yellow pepper roll with chives during week 3. Make sure to stop by on Tuesday, June 1, for International Sushi Day to enjoy all the mouthwatering rolls for half off! To celebrate sushi month to the fullest, Kissaki will be hosting a multitude of contests, promotions, and educational events, so make sure to follow them on social media for the latest buzz.

Ogawa

If you can score a reservation for Ogawa’s omakase this month, do it! The newly minted Michelin-starred restaurant, spearheaded by visionary Alvaro Perez Miranda, has swiftly become a hotspot. Celebrated as a Cultural Conduit of Japanese Gastronomy, Ogawa offers an unparalleled deep dive into Japanese cuisine. It’s by no means a cheap spot, but what better occasion to dine than during Sushi Month?  Plus, the culinary journey it provides is worth every penny—hands down. Each night, expect an ever-changing menu of seasonal seafood flown in from Japan that morning. Prepare to feast on some of the rarest and most exquisite ingredients on the planet.

Paperfish Sushi

One thing that’s a must during Sushi Month is making your own sushi. Luckily Paperfish has everything set. The Española Way local will be hosting a sushi-making class on Thursday, June 27. Learn the insider secrets of the pros at Paperfish while sipping on their infamous Wasabi Martini and munching on select appetizers. During the 2-hour class, students will have the opportunity to learn how to make hamachi nigiri, a California roll, and the sushi bar’s Paper Tuna signature roll.
