5 Great Lunches Under $20

A great lunch doesn’t have to cost a lot. For under $20, you can enjoy a hearty meal from some of South Florida’s top spots. Here are five restaurants where lunch won’t break the bank.

Buya

For affordable and tasty Japanese fare, look no further than Buya in Wynwood. The neighborhood gem is known for its shareable plates and good vibes, but they also have some bigger individual offerings.

Under the Big & Bowl-Sey section, guests can find filling selections like short rib ramen, spicy tuna donburi, and duck gyoza hot pot for $16 or less. Each of these dishes is guaranteed to fill you up without costing an arm and a leg. If a late lunch is in the cards, swing by after 3 to enjoy some happy hour bites and drinks as well. We won’t tell your boss.

Buya is located at 250 NW 24th Street, Miami, FL 33127. For more information, visit their official website.

Della Bowls

“Healthy bowls of happy” is one of the taglines for Della Bowls, and that’s exactly how you’ll be feeling after eating one. The plant-based fast-casual eatery is located inside The Doral Yard and serving up a tempting menu of satisfying health-conscious cuisine.

For $15 or less, you can get a bowl packed with black coconut rice, sofrito black beans, sweet potato, avocado … there are toppings galore. Create your own or pick from crowd favorites like the Southwest Bowl and Doral Bowl. Pro tip: Take advantage of the weekday lunch special for the best bang for your buck: $16.50 for a bowl and a beverage.

Della Bowls is located at 8455 NW 53rd Street, Suite 106, Doral, FL 33166. For more information, visit their official website.

Full Bloom

For more upscale vegan food, consider Full Bloom on Miami Beach. The restaurant offers an extensive selection of gourmet plant-based bites that might even convert some carnivores. For lunch, try out the loaded yuca fries, guava BBQ wings or one of the yummy lunch sandwiches (they even have a vegan Italian sub!).

There are bowl options here as well, including a chow mein and carne asada bowl. Like we mentioned earlier, everything is 100% vegan despite the name – but you’d be hard-pressed to tell the difference.

Full Bloom is located at 1670 James Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information, visit their official website.

La Placita

Craving a sandwich? La Placita has you covered. The Puerto Rican restaurant from the Pubbelly team offers three delectable sandwiches for $15. These aren’t your average-sized sandwiches either; these are monstrous.

You can never go wrong with a classic steak sandwich (sandwich de bistec); it sounds simple – just grilled beef and onions – but it packs a flavorful punch. Same goes for the pork sandwich (pan con lechon), which is also a winner. If your diet starts tomorrow, then go all out with the La Tripleta Boricua; it’s a triple threat with roasted pork, country ham and pastrami. No matter what you choose, you’re leaving full.

La Placita is located at 6789 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, FL 33138. For more information, visit their official website

Ruby Dee’s

Ruby Dee’s

When you think of food hall food, elevated fare might not be the first thing that comes to mind. Chef Daniel Roy is changing that with Ruby Dee’s, which is located inside MIA Market at the Design District.

The vegetable-forward concept features an array of tantalizing dishes that are a steal for the price. Items like the salt-roasted beets, roasted romanesco, and wagyu picanha sandwich will have your taste buds on full alert. The fact that this food is priced under $20 is one of the best deals in town. Go there now.

Ruby Dee’s is located at 140 NE 39th Street, Miami, FL 33137. For more information, visit their Instagram page
